BlackFridayFont is a one-person type foundry born on Rodrigues Island, Mauritius — one of the most remote inhabited islands on Earth. Every font is designed with AI-assisted tools, curated by a human eye, and sold at a price that makes great typography accessible to everyone.
The story
BlackFridayFont started from a simple frustration — great fonts cost too much, and the ones you could afford looked like everyone else's. The gap between "free and generic" and "professional and expensive" was too wide.

Every font in this collection is created using AI-assisted design tools — then curated, refined, tested and finalized by a human. AI handles the generation. The taste, selection and intention are entirely ours. That combination is what makes this catalog unusual.
The studio is based in Rodrigues Island — a tiny, volcanic island in the Indian Ocean, 600km east of Mauritius. It's one of the most isolated places on Earth. There's no design scene, no agency network, no meetups. Just work, silence, and the ocean.
That isolation shaped everything. The fonts are not trying to be trendy. They're not chasing what's popular on Behance this month. They come from a place that's fundamentally outside the loop — and that's exactly what makes them interesting.

The website — code, structure, copywriting and design — was built with the assistance of Claude (Anthropic). All pages, features and content were directed, reviewed and validated by a human.
Typefaces are explored using generative AI tools. Every font is then entirely redrawn and refined by hand in Illustrator — the AI provides a starting point, the human provides the craft.
We believe in full transparency. AI is a tool — like Illustrator, like a pencil. The creative direction, curation, refinement and final decisions behind every font and every page are entirely human. BlackFridayFont is an AI-assisted studio, not an AI-generated product.
